Dave and Lee were quite happy to enjoy some peace and solitude on their recent float from Dexter Dam down to Clearwater on the Willamette River. A few interuptions along the float due to some salmon and steelhead action seemed a welcome departure from the peace and quiet.

Late Summer – Early Fall Trout provide great action for fishermen of any level on the majestic McKenzie near Eugene, Oregon. Matt Dickerson and his buddy Dave O’Hara set an all-time record for trout landed on a single day’s drift while enjoying the gorgeous scenery along the Upper McKenzie River last week. Dave McBee was delighted to tie into a feisty Summer-Run Steelhead on a recent Middle Fork Willamette drift. In the heat of the afternoon, when prospects looked tough, Dave tossed his spinner into a small pocket of shade and was pleasantly rewarded with a hard-fighting, tail-walking, bright Summer-Run. Should we mention that his wife Lee had already hooked a big steelhead and a surprise salmon earlier in the morning?
