Fish We Catch

For reasons not entirely understood by the biologists, even though the DNA sequence is almost identical, the resident rainbow spend their entire life in the rivers and streams, while the anadromous Steelhead will often spend several years in the ocean and benefit from a much larger food base.

Summer Steelhead tend to return from the ocean to their natal rivers in Spring and Summer while Winter Runs begin their journey back to spawning grounds in fall and winter.
