McKenzie River Spring Salmon Run - A Long Haul - Hard Work Yields Good Results

Ron & Jen Mirabile had a great late season trip for McKenzie River Salmon. Apparently under duress, Jen had only reluctantly agreed to a fishing trip with her husband Ron. If memory serves correctly, she ended up the "hot hooker" of a trip that yielded limits for everyone. Rumor even has it that we may very well see her again!

Jim & Ron enjoyed a recent limit of salmon while drifting the McKenzie River.
The Upper McKenzie should fish well for pan-fry planter trout over Memorial Day and throughout the week

Cool temperatures continue to delay the main arrival of our Springers. Fish are trickling in however, everyday now.

Submitted by John Gross on 25 June 2010 - 1:43pm.Spring Chinook and Summer Steelhead fishing on the McKenzie remains excellent. We were tagged out on Springers yesterday by 11:00 am with 4 adults and a Jack salmon to boot.
The much anticipated 2010 McKenzie River Spring Chinook - Summer Steelhead Runs have arrived!
Submitted by John Gross on 31 May 2010 - 9:06am.We have enjoyed good fortune in hooking salmon and/or steelhead on all of our 2010 guided McKenzie and South Santiam trips. While not every fish has ended up in the net, we anticpate increasingly good numbers of fish in the boat as we move into the prime months of June and July.
