Big Steelhead & Salmon Run predicted for 2012 McKenzie River

My guest on Sunday got into some great trout action as he toyed with numerous scrappers in the 10"-16" range while also landing about 7 fatties in the 2-3 lb club. Spinners, spoons and Russel's "secret lure" all proved productive. A nearby fly fishermen also saw some action once the water warmed up. As the lakes's temperature rose, the bite just got better and better.

Gregger was all smiles with 13 pounds of feisty Winter Steelhead taken on the Siuslaw River just west of Eugene, OR.

Our recent trips are producing some great catches of Winter Chrome. Trips to the Siuslaw and the S.F. Coquille all produced nice fish.

Ron & Jen Mirabile had a great late season trip for McKenzie River Salmon. Apparently under duress, Jen had only reluctantly agreed to a fishing trip with her husband Ron. If memory serves correctly, she ended up the "hot hooker" of a trip that yielded limits for everyone. Rumor even has it that we may very well see her again!
