Elk & Sixes Rivers Continue to Produce after each New Splash of Rain

The rain which pulls our salmon from the Pacific Ocean into their natal streams has been all too absent this fall season. With only 3 short intervals of rain this fall, bumper fishing days have been in short supply on the smaller coastal streams in southwest Oregon in 2013. Folks with enough savvy or good fortune to time their fishing soon after a good rain often reap chrome rewards. Since an inch or two of rain may only result in a couple days of good fishing, timing becomes everything. Sustained wet weather that keeps the river level up with plenty of water for good boating and great fishing lasting a week or two at a time, has remained nothing short of elusive so far this season.
